Zum Kranz

The worst part was how we were treated after raising a theft complaint. The owner gave no apology, called us troublemakers, and staff verbally abused us. The owner even said, "If I don't lock my things in the closet, I shouldn't be surprised when my belongings are stolen!" Staff also put trash in a guest's shoes, seemingly as retaliation. Guests who arrive with enough money seem to get priority, while others are pushed into a back corner and left with a limited breakfast selection until it is replenished later. This place is nowhere near worth four stars, unless perhaps it was in the 18th century, not 2018. I can't recommend it.

The meals are excellent, and the prices feel very fair. I come back regularly for both the hotel and restaurant. Madame Belz is so welcoming and attentive, the rooms are comfortable, and the pool is pleasantly warm. I'd happily recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the indoor pool was a nice place to unwind. There is fitness equipment too. Our room was very quiet, and breakfast had a good buffet. Half-board comes with a very good four-course meal, though unfortunately there were only two dishes to choose from.

The owner is kind, and her cooking is very good, which goes a long way. The hotel has a lovely setting and a charming, typical feel, though the room decor is a bit dated. The wellness area needs attention, as some of its equipment is faulty.
