House Falster Bad Saarow

We were there for ten days. The lodge was nice, though it had a lot of dead flies, which I know can’t really be helped. The park was extremely quiet and there wasn’t much to do, but we were visiting for a purpose and spent a lot of time off site. The apartment was clean and ready for inspection, but I was asked to pay the gas and electric bill for all ten days the day before leaving. It came to well over 100 euro. Since we weren’t leaving until the next day, they refused to inspect the place, return my deposit, or put it towards the utility costs. I paid the gas and electric with the promise that my deposit would be transferred back within ten days. A month later, I’m still waiting. They say staff sickness has kept them from transferring it. That’s a pretty poor excuse, especially when replying to my chasing emails took more time than sending the deposit. I followed their process and paid the utilities up front before leaving, but they haven’t followed the process for returning my deposit. It feels extremely unprofessional and has left a really bad taste in my mouth. At this point, it feels like I’ll never get it back.

The house was cozy, well kept, and had everything we needed for a restful stay. From coffee on the deck to a walk along the shore, it all felt peaceful. The lake views from every window were stunning, with birds in the morning and sunsets over the water in the evening. Staying in this lakeside house was a dream, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet retreat.

The holiday home we rented was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, bathroom, and beds of decent quality. The location is beautiful, right by the lake and very close to the village of Bad Saarow. There was no air-conditioning, though, which would have been great in the 25+ Celsius heat.
