The rooms were especially stylish, and we were impressed by the hotel’s facilities, decor, location, and all the little details. The staff were friendly and approachable whenever they were around. Breakfast was the one disappointment. It could have been fresher, more varied, or a little more distinctive, with things like tomato and mozzarella, smoked salmon, or remoulade. The cucumbers and tomatoes weren’t cut up in advance, so everyone had to handle the cucumber several times. That could be improved. Otherwise, it was a lovely hotel and we’d be happy to return.

They’ve made something lovely of the small space, and both the hotel and our room were very nice. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was the one letdown if you didn’t arrive right at 8:00 a.m. Things were often gone, though they refilled them quickly when asked, and both the rolls and plates were tiny. We were satisfied, but it wasn’t anything special.

The online information was really helpful, with excursion and restaurant tips and details about the hotel. Self check-in and check-out worked perfectly, and having no reception desk was a new but positive experience. There was always a phone number to call in an emergency. We stayed three nights, February 8th-11th, and really enjoyed it overall. The location is very central, within easy walking distance of the small shopping street, supermarkets, restaurants, and little shops. Romantischer Winkel was about a 15-minute walk, and there’s parking right outside. The room was cute and decorated with care, with little sayings and proverbs on the walls that we thought were adorable. We even had a small balcony, a TV with lots of channels and on-demand options, and a bathroom with a hairdryer, two large towels, and two small ones. There was space to hang clothes and, finally, enough hangers without having to ask. The room wasn’t cleaned at all during our three-day stay. With snow and gravel outside, we would have liked at least one sweep or mop, the bins emptied, the toilet and mirror wiped, and the toilet paper restocked. It probably would’ve been done if we’d asked. The mattress in room 007 was much too soft for us, so we slept badly, though we might have been offered an alternative if we’d asked. The snack and drink machine was rather expensive. Breakfast was small but quite adequate, and we enjoyed a relaxed meal each morning with quiet, pleasant music. It’s all self-service, including setting your own table, which didn’t bother us. The staff were friendly and attentive, and promptly refilled things when they ran out. We felt very comfortable and would love to return, with a firmer mattress ;) Thank you!

The thing that stood out most was how attentive everyone was. They kept checking in warmly to see if things were okay, asking about requests and suggestions, and taking care of requests right away. I rarely get that level of service. We spent Monday through Friday at Haus Tonburg and left very happy. The rooms were clean and thoughtfully decorated, and the well-kept outdoor spaces and little details around the house made it feel welcoming even when we weren't in our room. Breakfast was varied, tasty, and full of fresh local products. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were available between breakfast hours, along with cold drinks and snacks from a vending machine. Fantastic stay.
