The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good with enough choice. The rooms, though, are pretty dated, and the metal bed frames squeak. I was in Bad Saulgau in June during lovely weather, but the heat in the room was almost unbearable. The curtains let in a lot of light and did nothing to keep the heat out, so it was bright from sunrise. My first room faced the street. Opening the window at night was natural in that heat, and the road noise was tolerable, but the train station is directly opposite. Deliveries to a shop behind it started at 5 a.m. The next night I moved to a room at the back without any trouble. It faced east and was a bit cooler, but still much too hot. The television didn't work in either room. When I spoke to the owner/manager at departure, he apologized and said he'd buy fans. I didn't think that would really solve it. Exterior blinds and new windows are needed, or, better still, air conditioning.
