Apparthotel Steiger Bad Schandau

The accommodation was about what you'd expect for the price, and the kitchenette was nice. Breakfast was mediocre, with cheap radio music playing through speakers. One day the breakfast staff spoke neither German nor English, and they wouldn't turn off the radio or move me to a seat away from the speaker. We had to take out our own garbage, maybe because of corona? They'd said the pool would be open, but it was barred. I also woke up every day to doors banging.

The location was easy to reach and the rooms were okay, but the pool was closed. For what we paid, the quality and service were very poor. This is supposed to be a four-star hotel, yet breakfast included blue, moldy bread, which I still can't understand, and the food was tasteless and low-budget. The quality of everything seemed low. Room service basically didn't exist: our room wasn't cleaned, the waste wasn't taken out, and only one of the three beds was made. I understand COVID made things difficult, but service like this for that price is simply not acceptable. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

We really liked the room, and breakfast was very good. The €50 city tax came as a surprise. I also didn't appreciate having to pay extra for parking, especially for the baby crib.

The rooms felt lovely and homey, and there was parking on the property. The staff were amazing and kind. The Wi-Fi, though, was far too weak to use.
