Hotel Erbgericht Krippen

The worst room I've ever had. It smelled of urine and mold, and there was no air circulation unless you left the door and curtains open to the outside. The one window faced the cellar entrance, so animals could have crawled in overnight if it was left open. It felt like a cave. The carpet was stained and gross, and the light was just a bare bulb. Don't let them put you in a room numbered below 100! I don't understand how the place gets better ratings. Breakfast was standard for German pensions.

Breakfast was delicious and had a huge range of options. The staff were friendly, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. My room was bright, spacious, quiet, spotlessly clean, and tidy. The hotel is well placed between the city center and the trails up into the mountains. There's a good ferry connection across the river and on to the Czech Republic. Highly recommended!

The service was outstanding. We arrived early and could leave our luggage, then came back after the check-in hours and they stayed late for us. The room was clean. Breakfast was simple, not bad, just nothing special. I enjoyed the restaurant dishes.

The hotel looked cozy, but the reception experience was disappointing. We called several times during the morning and nobody answered. When we arrived, the gentleman at reception didn't look like he was from the hotel, and the area smelled like an ashtray. The receptionist wasn't helpful and came across as a bit rude. We won't be back.
