Pension Menge

Bad Schandau is lovely during Advent, especially the cutely decorated side streets. We stayed for a weekend with our dachshund, and the small double room suited the two of us perfectly. It had a large double bed, a leather sofa, and a big bathroom. Simple design, clean and tidy throughout. Mr. Menge was extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had a limited selection, but it was delicious and enough to start the day well. The guesthouse is on a side street in the city center, right by the city park. Everything is easy to reach on foot, and there are parking spaces too. Restaurant Zum Franz was very tasty and gets a little recommendation from us.

Mr. Menge was a wonderful host, giving me excursion tips and answering all my questions about the area. My room at Pension Menge was clean and tidy, and had a small refrigerator. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and more than ample. I had a very pleasant time in Saxon Switzerland and will definitely return.

The location made hiking easy. We could reach our chosen trails without trouble, and used public transport for the return trips with the guest card from the accommodation. The town center was an easy walk away, with plenty of places to eat and drink, plus a nearby supermarket where we could stock up and keep food in the room refrigerator. It’s in a peaceful spot in a spa park, with a great Kneipp pool, and there’s a parking lot right next to the accommodation. After hikes, we loved sitting on the cozy terrace with a beer from the beer fridge. At 2 euros a bottle, it was great value. The host was super friendly and happy to share tips for our planned hikes. Breakfast was delicious and had a great selection for different tastes, including fresh salads, rolls, muesli, fruit, and eggs. We felt so comfortable and welcome, and would book again in a heartbeat. A huge thank you to the host, keep up the great work! 😊

The host was very friendly, and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Our double room was clean and comfortable during our stay from September 28, 2025, to October 3, 2025. We highly recommend the guesthouse. It was lovely.
