The breakfasts were very good, with a generous cup of coffee, and the staff were really helpful. The old, stylish building is in a perfect location, and the service was great, including daily cleaning. My only complaint was that the duvet was short.

The rooms are a little dated, but everything was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, too. It’s a lovely little guesthouse in Bad Schandau, just outside the town center but easy to get to.

The bed was the best part of our week here. I worried at first that the mattress might be too soft, but we ended up sleeping wonderfully. Breakfast was really good, and we didn’t miss anything. We got a very warm welcome, had everything explained, and immediately fell in love with the place. Our sweet little room had a bright bathroom and a small TV room. There’s no refrigerator in the room, which was the one drawback. The fridge is in a separate building and shared with the other guests, but drinks are available to take and you can put money in the piggy bank. We’d happily recommend this guesthouse.

The breakfast buffet is generous, and the owner shares useful ideas for excursions and hikes over breakfast. You can set off on hiking trails right outside the door, with the bus and Kirnitzschtalbahn (Kirchschtal Railway) nearby. A very nice place to stay, even if you’re traveling alone.
