Apart Hotel Wasserturm

The hosts were welcoming, and the accommodation has a character of its own. There's a lovely city view, plus a great Italian restaurant nearby. The location is perfect.

The top floor of the tower gave us amazing views in every direction, and we could even hear the soundcheck before the concert. Our Deluxe Tower Room was on the 6th floor, with a gallery level upstairs for the toilet, sink, shower, and big freestanding bath. The living and sleeping space was below. Rooms on floors 5 and 6 differ a little in their amenities. We chose the Areal Apart Hotel Wasserturm for the Santiano concert because it's right across from Kalkberg Arena. Noctalis Bat World, a bakery, and several restaurants are also close by. There isn't a traditional breakfast. You can order a small one delivered to your room, or bring cold cuts and pick up rolls at the bakery. If you want somewhere truly special to stay, this is a great choice.

Being able to step straight from the elevator into the room was a special touch, and from our room on level 5 we had a lovely view. The furnishings were high quality and the bed was extremely comfortable. We stayed at Wasserturm for the Karl May Spiele, just a few meters from Kalkberg. The only downside was the breakfast we added on. We ordered one savory and one sweet box, but they had the same contents, and the rolls weren't left at the door as promised. I also thought the breakfast was very expensive. Even so, we'd book the hotel again and can recommend it without hesitation. See you next time.

We've already reserved a room for next year. It's a lovely option for an overnight stay during the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg, with nicely furnished rooms and almost everything you need. We did miss having a second armchair, though. There's just one, so the other person has to sit on a kitchen chair or the bench.
