The breakfast had a nice range of choices, but the stay started off badly: the heating was off, so it was very cold when we arrived, and the water was cold too. We had to ask for an extra electric heater. The hotel could use a renovation.

The room was quite old, and the whole place needs updating. What made the stay worse was the receptionist. She cancelled the room reservation, gave me grief for checking in at 6pm, then argued about the arrival times. Even though the hotel wasn't fully booked, she seemed reluctant to give me a room when I asked. I won't be coming back.

The one good part was that the owner let us cancel. We couldn't imagine staying even one night. We'd booked online after seeing reviews that weren't too bad, but the rooms were dark and old-fashioned, and the refrigerator on the balcony was crawling with critters. Everything felt filthy, like stepping back 30 years. The balcony tables each had a different oilcloth, and they looked as though they hadn't been removed in years. Later, we heard the hotel is due to be demolished and that the current owners are salvaging whatever they can. A complete disappointment.
