The room was spacious, and breakfast and spa access were included in the price. At around €100 a night, I got more than I expected, and even on a business trip it felt a little like a holiday. The shower head was noisy and wouldn’t stay where I wanted it. Hopefully that was just an issue in my room.

The room looked a little dated and could have been better, but I’d still be happy to return. The hotel is right in the middle of everything in Bad Wildungen, with a big breakfast buffet and plenty of choices. Service at both reception and the restaurant was excellent.

Breakfast was good, with fresh, nice food, but the rest of the stay was a bad experience. The hotel was expensive, and I expected better rooms and service. The rooms were large, but very old, with a 90s style. There wasn’t enough light, and the room was dark and dusty. I also couldn’t find a bathroom outlet for my hair straightener, and the sink wouldn’t hold water. For a four-star hotel I expected a big spa and swimming pool. Instead, the pool was really small, and you can’t properly swim in it, just sit in the water like a bathtub. I feel sorry about all the money I spent there.

The internet was the biggest problem for me. I’ve been staying here almost three weeks, and it’s been very slow every day, not an issue with my laptop. Sunday morning’s speed test showed ping above 180 ms, about 900 kb/s download, and 220 kb/s upload. If you need to work online from the hotel, you’ll have trouble. Since I work a lot on the internet, this matters a lot to me and brings down my rating. I’d also expect a four-star hotel to provide at least free mineral water and a kettle for tea or coffee in the room. They weren’t provided, though many other hotels offer them. Breakfast could have more variety too, as it was the same each day. Otherwise, it’s a very nice, clean hotel in the town center, with friendly service.
