Seehotel Fährhaus

The staff were SUPER nice and worked hard to make everyone feel welcome. The views are lovely, and the location is great. But the rooms feel well below the standard of a four-star hotel, and the prices are way too high. We paid Euro 160 a night over a summer weekend, even though the place feels more like Euro 80 a night. The carpets are old and dingy, and the rooms feel stuffy and smell old, as if they haven’t been renovated in twenty years. There’s no air circulation, even with the balcony door open, so the room gets extremely hot even in 60 degree weather. The elevator is ancient, and the hotel decorations look like a 4th grader made them. The hotel needs a complete makeover. With airbnb and holiday rentals competing, who would pay these prices?

The view from breakfast is the best, and it’s a relaxing place to stay. It’s a good hotel in a great location. Just be aware that not every room has AC, which can be an issue in summer.

It’s a very nice hotel, but there’s nowhere to charge my electric car, either in the parking area or nearby. That may send me to another hotel next time.

We got great value for the price at this lovely hotel by the lake. The service was very nice, too.
