Die Wein Bleibe

Clean, pleasant, spacious rooms, good service, and a good breakfast. A good hotel!

Slept wonderfully, and the area was lovely.

I barely slept and had a very restless night. The rooms open onto a long outdoor corridor, with lights that turn on at night as needed. Light kept getting into the room through the large frosted glass panels in the door. The bathroom is open to the room and can only be screened off with a clear glass sliding door, which leaves the toilet in plain view. The corridor light came on several times during the night, even though there weren’t many guests. More guests would only make that issue worse. There’s a wine fridge in the room instead of the usual minibar, and it’s much louder than a minibar built into a cabinet. If you’re sensitive to light and don’t want to wake at sunrise, bring a sleep mask or stay somewhere else.

The rooms were okay apart from the bedding. The pillow itself, not its cover, smelled of old sweat. Breakfast was a rip-off at €13.50: the rolls were overcooked and tasted like cookies, and there was hardly any cold meat. The owner really should deal with this.
