We felt welcome as soon as we arrived at this small, charming hotel in Badenweiler, Germany. The owners were wonderful and made the place feel like a cozy BnB. The hotel’s chic decorations and atmosphere were lovely while still feeling comfortable. Our beds were restful, and we were able to check in massively early without notice, which was a welcome surprise. Breakfast was phenomenal, with eggs, coffee, pastries, and enough to keep us full until lunch. We also enjoyed tea and coffee on the beautiful terrace, taking in the quiet surroundings. The hosts were lovely to talk with and went out of their way to help, even lending us a charger when we realized we had no converter. There was limited on-site parking, which made the visit more convenient. We also got free bus tickets and an hour of free thermal baths each day. Knowing what a gem this hotel would be, we’d happily have spent our whole vacation there. If we return to Badenweiler, we’ll definitely stay again.

Sleep is impossible here, and I think it accounts for 80% of a stay. There’s so little sound insulation that you can clearly hear people talking and toilets flushing in the next room. The pillows are uncomfortable too. Whoever gets up first seems to wake the whole hotel.

The Halbreiter family were wonderfully friendly, and our dog was made very welcome. We stayed 14 days in the hotel’s only apartment, about 50 square meters and easily big enough for a couple. We had everything we needed. Fresh towels arrived every two days, and they even took out the trash, which is unusual in an apartment. The hotel has its own character, with distinctive decor and a different look in every room. We’d love to come back next year and wish the Halbreiter family all the best.

The owners were both kind and helpful, and the service was impeccable. The hotel and its stylish rooms were beautiful and clean. It’s in a perfect spot, with restaurants and a spa just a few steps away.
