Wanderherberge Rennsteig

We at Schlafplatz are grateful for the excellent cooperation. Requests were handled quickly and smoothly, making our daily work much easier. We especially value your flexibility and readiness to accommodate changes and special requests. We look forward to working together again and warmly recommend this landlord. Sincerely, The Schlafplatz Team

I booked through Booking.com and messaged them with my arrival time, which they accepted. But when I got to the hotel, no staff were available. Nobody answered the phone or my messages, and for three days they haven’t replied in the Booking.com chat. After traveling all night and working all day, I had to find somewhere else to stay. Avoid this place.

I was comfortable here, and the owner was very nice. The rooms are clean, while the toilets and washrooms are in the hall, as you’d expect in a hostel. There’s no food on-site apart from breakfast, so for dinner you’ll need to find something in town or have it delivered. Breakfast was very good, and for the price I’d stay again. Just keep in mind that this is a hostel.

We spent one night here over Pentecost weekend, and my husband and I both felt very comfortable. The rooms were nicely furnished and, above all, clean. The owner is a gem, incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. The price is very reasonable too. If there’s another wedding nearby, we’d happily book “our” room again ;-) Six stars!
