Hotel Eberhardt-Burghardt is a cozy, family-run place right across from the Cassiopea therme and next to the museum of Chekhov (Russian playwright). It may look a little old, but the owners put a lot of care into keeping it up and looking after guests. The welcome drink was a lovely surprise. A nice place to stay in that part of the Black Forest.

The room was tidy, good value, and well priced, with free wi-fi and a balcony furnished with two chairs and a table. I slept really well. The decor felt warm and homely, with lots of homey objects, and the place itself was quiet and cozy. It's family run, and the lady of the house was efficient, helpful, and attentive at breakfast. She even made me tea when I arrived, which I hadn't expected. Breakfast was great, and the hotel restaurant is right next door, very convenient. Check-in was quick and efficient, and I was given a complimentary guest card for free public transport and other discounts. The area felt very safe. I went out around 10 pm, though it's not a party place. The hotel is within walking distance of the bus stop, up a very short slope. Badenweiler is small, so I could walk to the spa and Therme, the Evangelical church, the Roman ruins, and the old Roman fortress. Buses to Niederweiler also leave nearby. Bus connections were good, although service was affected while I was there because Fasnacht was being held in the nearby town. I wish I could visit again. Thanks for a pleasant stay.
