The beds were uncomfortable, and the hot water wasn’t proper, which is unacceptable at this price. Check-in was another serious problem: teammates arriving late couldn’t get into their prepaid rooms because reception was closed and there was no overnight check-in. After a long trip, they had to look for somewhere else to stay in the middle of the night. We came to Palenberg with our whole film crew for the Halloween Horror House festival. While I was waiting alone in the lobby, the woman who seemed to be the owner came over and aggressively questioned who I was, what I was doing there, who I’d arrived with, and which car was mine. I explained that I was a guest and a cast member at the festival, but she stayed suspicious and kept asking why I was there. When an organizer arrived and confirmed I was part of the crew, she called it a “misunderstanding” and walked away. I’ve never been treated so rudely. We didn’t feel welcome from the start. The lack of basic hospitality and respect, along with the problems with essential services, made this a deeply disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend the place, and we won’t be back.

I was travelling after a personal loss and wasn’t feeling well. Mrs Heinrichs and her friendly team were unexpectedly kind and accommodating, which made the trip bearable. Thank you. I’ll always come back.

Shopping is close by, and there’s a restaurant right beside Cap1 if you want to eat out. The place was very clean, with a modern kitchen that had a microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishes, pots, and pans. Check-in has been updated too. I keep coming back to the CAP1 Boarding House, and it gets better each time. The rooms are well maintained, the building has a relaxed feel, and I feel at home whenever I’m there. It’s an easy, modern, stylish place to stay. The new check-in kiosks were the best part of my last visit. They’re simple to use, take what feels like 30 seconds, and mean no paperwork or long waits. Especially handy when you arrive late or are in a hurry. Already looking forward to next time. For a stress-free stay, go to CAP1! ✌️
