Hotel Unger

The staff were polite, but that didn't make up for the uncomfortable, unhealthy feel of the place. The furniture was very old and worn, and there was visible mold in several spots, including the bathroom. It felt dirty and poorly looked after, nothing like what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The whole atmosphere was dated and neglected. It needs a full renovation and deep cleaning before charging these prices. I wouldn't recommend staying until those problems are fixed.

Cellular data works poorly here, and the walls are paper thin. There's no complimentary WI-FI, either. They charge 10€ a day for it, which feels ridiculous and outdated when people need internet for online check-in and checking flights or trains. Wi-Fi is a basic amenity now, and this needs to improve.

The location is good, and the room was reasonably clean, as it should be. But the furniture looks like it belongs in a 90s hotel, and the rooms are much more worn and dated in person than in the pictures. The lounge is badly outdated too, and the amenities are lacking for a place claiming four stars. It should be rated three stars at best, and would need a complete renovation to justify a genuine four-star rating. I don't recommend Unger as a 4-star hotel.

Room 607 was clean but quite bare, and it was nice to be able to open the windows for fresh air. The reception staff were friendly and helpful despite it being late. The walls, though, were paper thin with no noise insulation at all. I could hear the guy next door talking on his phone until midnight. So annoying, and definitely not a 4-star hotel. I ended up there as a stranded traveler after a train cancellation, through a DB deal. Wouldn't recommend it.
