The family Oesterle were welcoming and did their best to understand my terrible German. The guesthouse had a lovely old-time feel, especially with the breakfast room furnishings and softly played '40s type music, while still offering modern conveniences. My room was clean and comfortable, though a bit pricey for a student. The satisfying breakfast and view of the Black Forest mountains made it worth it, and I had a great view of Schonmunzach too. It was quiet enough to work on papers, and the location was handy for seeing other places in the Black Forest. I think it's right on the Murgtalbahn. Freudenstadt is about half an hour away, and Triberg can be visited on a day trip. Staying at the pension also gets you a "Konus Card" for public transport throughout the Black Forest. It's a lovely family-run guesthouse.

A very nice, traditional little family-run pension. The rooms are spacious and clean, though a bit worn. Breakfast was only a little more than continental.

The stream just outside the door was a lovely touch, and breakfast was a real highlight, with tasty food, music from the 1920s onward, and excellent service from Mr. Österle himself. We felt right at home and would happily return. 🤗 We stayed here for our holiday last year and loved it. Stepping through the front door felt like entering another world, especially for anyone nostalgic for the 60s and 70s. It was marvelous.
