The location is central, and it’s an easy walk to the Altstadt or Maxplatz. My only caution is for anyone bringing a large car, since the parking space can be a bit tight. Hotel Bamberger-Hof has an older charm, but the updates make it feel fresh and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean, and each room has its own design. Breakfast (Frühstück) was amazing, with lots of delicious choices. They brought hot coffee and made the Ruhreis (scrambled eggs) to order. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the gentleman at the front desk patiently waited while I practiced my German. I had a delightful stay and can’t recommend it enough!

The building is old, though it’s been renovated, and I found the renovation rather weird. The toilet is just a square with transparent walls in the corner of the room, right beside the bed. When you poo, your partner is almost taking part. It felt very uncomfortable. Maybe that’s okay in Germany, but it shocked me.

The rooms and staff were superb, and the location was excellent for exploring the beautiful city of Bamberg. We had a lovely weekend at the Bamberger Hof.

I had a large room, which was handy since my dog was with me. There was a modern bathroom pod in the room, and a small park where I could walk the dog. I had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant next door. It’s a really lovely, quaint hotel. Bamberg has lots of independent shops and restaurants, plus a rich history and plenty to see. I was only there for one night, so I’d definitely visit again.

We loved the view from our room, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and parking was easy with our car. The hotel was clean and elegant, with a great location. We loved everything about it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bamberg.
