The restaurant staff were extremely unprofessional. I called the day before to reserve, and the lady told me to “just come, no problem.” But when we arrived, they refused to fit us in and didn't even say how long we'd have to wait. German service generally isn't anything to write songs about, but this took it to a whole new low.

The charming outdoor seating on the street was what drew us in, and it probably brings in most of their guests. Sadly, that was the only appealing part for us. The prominently displayed “business lunch” menu felt a bit misleading because it stands out much more than the regular menu and seems designed to pull people in. The regular prices are more than 50% higher. The food and service were just average, nothing felt special, and we left disappointed.

We were visiting from American, and our local friends picked this place for dinner while we were attending the annual Sandkerwa Festival. We were after pizza, though the menu also had other Italian dishes. The owner made us feel welcome from the start, greeting us at the door with a handshake and showing us to our table. He was like a ring master throughout the visit, yet still found time to stop by, engage with us genuinely, and welcome the American guests. The servers worked together and were attentive, and staff spoke English easily when we needed help. I'd highly recommend trying one of the deserts, which can easily be shared. There's a hotel here too, with a separate entrance next to the restaurant's on the street.

We came for the restaurant and can really recommend the lasagna, one of the best we've ever tried. The tagliatelle pollo and ham penne were good too. The staff were good, and everything came out quite fast.
