My room was clean and okay, but it was very cold. During five days there was no room service at all, not even fresh towels or the rubbish being emptied. I don’t expect much, but this was still a problem. The booking said 11 a.m. checkout, yet I was asked to leave early because the room needed cleaning, ideally around 9. That wasn’t respected. Then on Saturday evening the host came into my room without knocking, and I still don’t know why. I had booked and firmly committed to six nights, but when I arrived the lady told me they could only offer five. “You’re leaving on Sunday,” she said. Breakfast was supposed to be included in the booking, but there was none. I’ve never had an experience like this and reported it to the tourist office in Bad Birnbach. It’s especially frustrating when you’ve arrived by train and already booked your return trip. I’d advise people not to book here. Guests seem to get “thrown out” whenever they want. Outrageous!!

The room was great, and breakfast was generous and delicious. Everyone was very friendly, and the value for money was six stars. A train goes by every 30 minutes. If you’re not sensitive to that, it’s fine. I’d recommend the place to anyone.

We’ve been happy guests for 26 years. Every year we meet here with a family friend, either at Easter or in summer. Highly recommended!
