Gästehaus am Berg

The place has an older style, but it feels really cozy. The owner is especially kind and welcoming.

Our room was spacious and clean, with water, tea, coffee, and a little sweet treat waiting for us. We could borrow a DVD from the guest lounge and watch it in the room. Even though we were the only guests during our two nights, the hosts still invited us to light the fireplace. Breakfast was plentiful and left us wanting nothing. They were helpful and accommodating throughout, and the welcome made us feel at home right away. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We'd happily return and recommend the place.

Having toys like wooden train tracks and toy cars in the common room makes this a good place for families with little kids. The hosts were incredibly kind, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. On our last day, the owner even took our luggage to the train station so we could enjoy Bayerisch Eisenstein with our young son. The guesthouse was a handy base for hikes, with a bus stop fairly close too. One thing for smokers to know: smoking isn't allowed inside the house or on the balcony, but there's a nearby trash can a short walk away. We had a lovely short break in the Bavarian Forest and can absolutely recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay and would come back anytime. Amy is an incredibly sweet dog who wins everyone over right away, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, especially the homemade jams made with care, along with some British products like cheese. The guesthouse was a great base for hiking up Großer Arber. The Czech Republic is close by, and the guest card even lets you take the train to Klatovy. Highly recommended.
