Pension Merbald

Breakfast had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. We spent a night at Pension Merbald during our bikepacking trip. Room 1 was nicely furnished and had its own bathroom. Mrs. Merbald was a wonderful host. She let us keep our gravel bikes in the garage and even hose them down. Thank you so much for everything! Patricia and Lars

For one night, this small privately run guesthouse with three rooms was certainly fine, though I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay. It's inexpensive, so I have no complaints. Mrs. Merbald gave us a very warm welcome and explained the house rules. Our room was an adequate size and functionally furnished. Breakfast was served on a plate for each room, with everything you could need. Bikes can be kept safely and dry in the garage at the house, and the town center is a 10-15 minute walk away.

Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh rolls and six kinds of homemade jam. The house had a cozy, homey feel throughout, and we got a very warm welcome from Mrs. Merbald. We were hiking the Altmühltal Panorama Trail and had booked a double room. It was small, elegant, and clean. The city center was an easy 10-minute walk. We wish we could've stayed longer. While cycling the Altmühltalweg, we booked one night in a double room with Mrs. Merbald. Her room was spacious and furnished in a lovely, modern way, and the rest of the guesthouse felt cozy and full of character. Our bikes could be parked, charged, and locked in the garage next door. Mrs. Merbald is incredibly friendly and clearly puts a lot of care into running the place. Breakfast was prepared beautifully and suited us perfectly, including special almond milk she had bought. Beilngries is also a lovely town of 5,000 with everything you might need. We'd happily come back.
