The mountain and nature setting is lovely and peaceful, a good base for exploring Berchtesgaden. The room was reasonably clean, though spiders in the corners made it seem like it hadn't been properly prepared for guests. What really affected our stay was the host. From the moment we arrived, she seemed angry and was extremely rude and unwelcoming. She spoke loudly in Chinese, which we couldn't understand, and made no effort to communicate calmly or help us settle in. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome right at the start of the trip. The place had potential, but the host's attitude and the lack of basic hospitality took a lot away from it. I hope guests are treated more kindly and communication is handled with more patience and professionalism in future.

The room was surprisingly clean and spacious for the price, and we had a really excellent stay. The host didn't speak English very well but tried hard to communicate. She even brought her little nephew over to translate into English, which was very sweet. The rooms are on the third floor and there's no elevator, so carrying large luggage was a bit of a struggle.

The apartment was fine for the price and super clean. Communication made things harder than they needed to be, though: the owner spoke no English, and her German was atrocious. She also got angry when we couldn't understand each other.

I'd only suggest staying here if it's your last option. If you're alone and looking for a budget place, it might be okay. Otherwise, a big no.
