We booked this place quite a while ago, but being reminded recently of how awful the experience was made me want to leave a warning. We never stayed there because the host turned us away when we arrived. We'd messaged beforehand to ask if we could drop off our bags 15 minutes early, and he agreed. But as we walked up the driveway, he raised his voice and told us to leave. When we returned later, he was still rude about our early arrival and refused to let us stay, in the middle of winter. By then we didn't want to stay anyway. His behavior was frightening and very aggressive, and I felt unsafe. The property itself was run down and not nice. I'd urge people to read the host's rude replies to negative comments and avoid this place at all costs.

The mountain view is beautiful, and Simon was a nice host. We stayed in the house for a few days. His apartments are spacious, cozy, and warm, though there are some minor things you can easily work around. He's renovating the house himself and hasn't finished yet.

Inside was clean, and the landlord was friendly. Still, the area in front of the house was in terrible condition. The furnishings were very basic and old-fashioned, and the lamps were quite dim.

The location had a lot going for it: plenty of shops and restaurants were within walking distance, the nearby thermal baths and ice rink were cool for the kids, and the balcony had a nice view. We visited during the Christmas market, which was decorated very nicely. The place itself was okay apart from the upstairs entrance area, where there were empty bottles, cigarette butts, and trash. Cleanliness gets a grade 5 from me. The rooms really need airing out before new guests arrive, instead of having different scented sticks put in every room. Friendliness also gets a grade 5. As I understand it, the landlord lives upstairs, and his mood seems to change with his mood. We could be looking forward to our vacation and feeling cheerful, only for him to spoil it, then be perfectly friendly again in the afternoon.

We were there over Christmas, and I can't agree with Frau Richter's review at all. The landlord was friendly and open, and the place was clean. The apartments are nice and definitely worth the price, though they're not furnished in a modern style. My only criticism is that there could be a few more dishes and glasses.
