It’s a really quiet, peaceful place at night, with great running and cycling routes nearby and very little traffic. The location is as described, though you need to come by car. I stayed in a room with a private bath. The shared areas were cleaned all the time, and the dishwasher was unloaded. There’s a shared fridge, with your room labeled inside.

I was really impressed by the atmosphere and service here. It was a fantastic experience, and I’d happily come back. If you want somewhere that lives up to your expectations, this is it. Highly recommend!

We walked our dog straight from the front door toward the woods, passing two alpaca enclosures. Such an ideal spot for dog walks. Nearby Rittergütl was excellent for dinner, just a 5 to 7 minute drive away. Mr. Abraham and all the staff were gracious, kind, and incredibly accommodating. We felt so welcome. Schloss Mörlbach was a heaven-sent escape from ugly, cheaply furnished chain hotels and Airbnbs. Staying in this palace was even better than it sounds: the furniture is real wood, the modern amenities are great, and there are sheep in the backyard, maybe medieval Skudde Sheep or Heidschnucken. I love the idea of a communal kitchen because I like to self-cater quite a lot when traveling. The kitchens and everything else are so well thought out, with potential problems anticipated. Each room gets a labeled shelf in the fridge and food cabinet. We were thrilled to find a dog water dish and dark-colored towel in our room, plus dog stations at the entries with cleaning supplies. So smart and generous. The Hofladen was another favorite. We baked its frozen croissants ourselves for breakfast. Heaven! Signs on the Hofladen products, fences, doors, and elsewhere explain the rules in a friendly way, like asking people to use the zipline without screaming. This would be amazing for a big family gathering. Kids would love exploring the grounds and hallways, with a piano, toys, and more. The kitchens and garden grill would work well for a huge group. I’m going to proselytize to my neighbors with kids. The only possible small negative is the distant whooshing noise from the Autobahn. Just pretend it’s the wind.

I was glad there was no TV. It gave me two free hours to enjoy the garden or drive to the lake for an evening swim, watching the sunset turn the snow-covered mountains orange. I skipped breakfast and went to a nearby bakery, though there is a kitchen where you can make your own. There’s no service, but that suited me. You feel like you’re staying in your own villa, and that feeling is great. A nice check-out card and a bottle of water for the onward journey were a lovely way to show I’d been welcome. I’d be very happy to return with my whole family. How often can you stay in a private villa in one of the nicest places on earth? Thanks for a great experience. This is an incredible place. The Jugendstil Villa feels like stepping back a century. There’s no reception or check-in, you simply arrive and feel at home, with a friendly welcome note letting you know you’re expected. I had a very large suite, a comfortable bed, and a nice view over the lake. It was very quiet, and I barely came across other guests, except for a group of young people having dinner under the huge oak trees in the wide garden. The bathrooms are clean and modern, while the villa itself keeps its distinct traditional character and feels dated. Don’t expect modern house technology.

The location isn’t the best, but the kindness and hospitality make up for it. The people here are friendly and honest, and you can feel their integrity. The area is beautiful, with a small lake and lovely views. Rent a car and everything is nearby in Wolfratshausen, a beautiful little village with nice markets and stores. The kitchen is very good, and you can cook in peace; there are two bathrooms and staff are always there to help. Talk to Abraham, he’s a very friendly young guy who’ll help with anything. Thanks, Schloss Mörlbach, for making my stay and investment pleasant.
