Dream Factory by Hotel Bergheim

The beds were comfortable, the room stayed at a good temperature despite the changing weather, and everything seemed clean. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, with friendly staff who kept the dining room tidy throughout service. The bathroom area felt cramped, though the fixtures were nice, and noise came through the walls quite clearly, especially doors closing and movement in the room above. The gym was the main reason I booked, since I travel often and work out five days a week. Online check-in and using the app for both the main entrance and my room door worked surprisingly well. But the gym opens before reception, and staff were reluctant to let me keep a key overnight. I usually sleep around 20:00 to 04:00, so I had to make myself stay up until 21:30 or 21:50, depending on who was at reception, to get one. They said there were only five keys and guests needed access until the gym closed at 22:00. That shouldn't be my problem, and it disrupted my routine. The staff were kind and just following their instructions, but it seemed like there weren't enough keys to avoid this awkward situation. Parking is available, but there are so few spaces that you may end up in a muddy gravel lot about 100 metres away. It was manageable, just not ideal. I suspect visitors to nearby businesses and the neighboring gym were using the better spots, since there didn't seem to be much enforcement. A Shell gas station and a McDonalds are a short walk away.
