Kardinal Schulte Haus

The architecture was beautiful, and the hotel was clean with a location close to the motorway. Beds could have been a little more comfortable. Breakfast was above average and well worth the price, with freshly prepared eggs and plenty to choose from. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

I only stayed to sleep and have breakfast, and it seemed fine for that. The rooms were clean, though they get quite warm in summer, and breakfast was a little sparse but adequate. The nearby airport’s flight path means jets can wake you around 7 if you sleep with the window open.

We spent a night at Kardinal Schulte Haus to visit the nearby Spa Mediterana, and the location was perfect for that. It was good value, with an impressive breakfast for a 3-star hotel. The building is interesting and modern, and the rooms were beautiful and clean, with great views over Cologne in the distance, including the Kölner Dom. There’s parking on the premises, and it’s non-smoking. You’ll need a car if you have business elsewhere. The person at the front desk during check-in was very rude and didn’t talk or explain anything. The rest of the service staff were great, especially the breakfast area staff.

A great place for a conference, in a very nice-looking, very old building. The clean rooms have new furnishings, though the bright wood everywhere gives them a somewhat old-fashioned look. Bathrooms are modern and nice, but very small. Breakfast was average at most.
