The whole hotel smelled of cigarettes, and when we asked for clean beds, the woman at the counter just remade them without changing the sheets. She also refused to give us clean towels, then acted as if she didn't know what a towel was when we showed her a picture. She was mean and got angry when we, as tourists, couldn't speak German. She didn't speak English herself. She kept demanding more money, which she insisted we pay in cash. When I refused, I could pay by card the next day, but at double the price. We also had to pay tax twice even after showing her it had already been paid. When we got back late, she demanded more money again and wouldn't give us our key, which guests have to hand in whenever they leave. At 3:00 AM, we weren't allowed into our room because she wanted more money and couldn't speak English. This place felt degrading. The staff were disrespectful and mean, and the experience was disgusting. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Stay here if you want to punish yourself and get ripped off.

I booked at short notice because of an emergency, and everything went quickly and smoothly. The stay was comfortable, easy, and low stress, which I'm very grateful for. For the price and quality, this hotel is hard to beat. The nearest train stop is within sight of the entrance, so getting around the city is easy. My room was clean and tidy, though a little sparse. There was no fridge, but I didn't need one. The staff were consistently friendly and polite, with a relaxed, positive attitude. I didn't eat breakfast, though it looked like a well-prepared continental spread.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The hallways smelled strongly of smoke, and the rooms had a strange odor. Even though we'd just arrived, the floor was dirty. People were loud at night, and the thin walls let us hear everything. We thought there might be mold in the walls because we felt really sick during our stay and still felt weird for a few days after leaving.

Everything else was excellent, and the breakfast was good. The hotel was also easy to get around from. There was no fridge in the room or slippers in the bathroom.
