Alfa Hotel

What bothered me most was the response from the reception lady. I tried to offer the feedback politely, but her tone made it sound like the room problems were my fault for not inspecting everything closely. ALFA hotel, earning guests' trust is part of your job. The bathroom light in my first room didn't work. They gave me another room when I asked, which I appreciated. But that room hadn't been properly cleaned after the previous guest. The sheets were neatly arranged, giving the impression all was well, yet I found a used towel with spots, a glass with drops of cola in it, and, when I checked the bedding carefully, what were clearly a man's hairs. These are the reasons for my one star, with the service issue being the worst of them.

I loved my stay here. The bed was comfortable, it felt peaceful, and the bus stop is only two minutes away. If you're after a nice hotel in Berlin, this one is a great choice. I'd highly recommend it and will probably come back before the year is over.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, fresh food and friendly service even at 6:30 am. The rooms are clean and well arranged, and the staff were brilliant. It's a handy little base for a trip and costs less than quite a few other hotels. The shower and toilet are a little cramped, but clean and work perfectly.

We had a pleasant, easygoing stay and would come back. The room faced the courtyard (Hofseite), was quiet, and had a comfortable amount of space, though the bathroom was on the small side. Staff were friendly, capable, and helpful. We had our two dogs with us, which was no problem, and there are nice places for walks nearby, including along the river. Turmstraße worked well for late night takeaways, with lots of places to choose from. Parking is tricky in a big city, so we used the parking garage provided. We didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on it.
