There was a big gap under the door, so hallway noise came straight into the room. It also wasn't clean, with hairs on the bed and dust on the wardrobes. There were too few outlets, no air conditioning, and the little fan wasn't much help. I stayed one night and came away very disappointed. The hotel badly needs better cleaning and renovation.

Breakfast had a nice range of fresh options, and the price was very affordable compared with other hotels nearby. My room at [Hotel Alper] was clean, spacious, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive whenever I needed help. It was also handy for public transport and major attractions, so exploring the city was easy. I had a great stay and would recommend it to budget travelers looking for convenience and good service.

I stayed in room 401 on the fourth floor, while my mate had a nearby room. Coming out of the elevator, we were on the left side, away from the strip club, and didn't hear its music. That’s worth knowing if you’re worried about the noise. Ask for a room on the left once you’re past the elevator area to avoid nightclub sounds. My room was okay for a cheap hotel. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was decent, and there was a fan. But the shower was small, the toilet was impossible to use and not paint, and the socket beside one side of the bed was coming away from the wall. My mate’s room was worse. His mattress had a spring sticking out, the bathroom was dirty, there was no fan, the TV didn’t work, and his towels were stained. The toilet also had a ‘platform’ to inspect your work, which mine didn’t. When we arrived, the receptionist was eating lunch at a table. She told us to wait five minutes, then finished eating beside us before serving us. It wasn't a great stay, but if you’re in a pinch and need somewhere cheap, it might do. Definitely not a first choice, and getting a decent room seems like a gamble.
