Axel Hotel Berlin - Adults Only

The staff were welcoming from the moment I arrived, and friendly and professional throughout. My room was clean, cozy and had everything I needed. The hotel’s modern design and relaxed feel made it a comfortable stay. It’s also in a great spot, close to shops, restaurants and some of Berlin’s best places. I had a great time and would gladly stay again. Highly recommended.

I loved the welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly. My room was spotless, very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast had lots of fresh choices and was excellent. With attractions and nightlife close by, the location was just right for a Berlin visit. Highly recommended.

The €150 deposit on arrival was a nasty surprise. Neither TUI nor the hotel had mentioned it beforehand, and it felt misleading. I also found the door signs distasteful, which added to an uncomfortable, tacky atmosphere. My room was another problem. The shower bath leaked across the floor, leaving it unsafe and unusable, and the bathroom light flashed like a rave in the toilet. I had to ask to move rooms, something that shouldn’t be necessary at this price. The rooms generally looked tired and worn and badly needed refurbishment. The hotel felt sleazy and outdated, nothing like the impression I got when booking through TUI. From start to finish, the stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel fell short on maintenance, comfort and transparency. I wouldn’t return, and would urge anyone considering booking, especially through TUI, to think carefully.

Staff were polite and helpful, and the room was okay, although it smelled a bit damp whenever we came in. The spa area went under construction just one day after we arrived. Breakfast wasn’t worth 14 euros: some days they had juice, some days they didn’t, and the same went for the different kinds of bread.
