Berlin Sleep Club

This is the worst hostel I've ever seen. It was very dirty, especially the kitchen, and there were many homeless people and people with alcohol problems staying there. I booked for more than a week, but after two days I had to leave because of the conditions. One guest, a homeless man with alcohol problems, threatened me and verbally abused me. I complained to the hostel manager, but unfortunately nothing was done. I wish I could give it less than one star, it deserves minus ten.

The biggest plus was the central location, with several metro stations just a 5-10-minute walk away. The apartment was spacious, with a large living room, a kitchen with basic equipment, and a bathroom. My room was on the third floor, and there was no lift. Check-in was straightforward, and they responded promptly when I asked for an iron. The rooms were quite cold because the heating didn't seem to work well. Even after seeing some negative reviews online, I had a positive stay and thought it was good value for the location and size of the accommodation.

The park right across the street was full of homeless people, some of whom seemed to come into the rooms and kitchen and bring in whatever they wanted because the doors were left open. The room and bed smelled, the toilets stank, and the tables stuck to my arms. The caretaker seemed familiar with thefts, but would rather not help find the suspicious person who took the gift. It's a shame, as a Berliner, to have tourists offered a place like this. Management should improve security, install e-locks that lock automatically, and clean the facilities a bit more. Berlin has much better options for similar prices, so don't choose this hostel if you have alternatives. This is the first one-star review I've ever given. I'll definitely check Google reviews before booking another hostel.

It's a cheap place in a good location, and it works if all you need is a bed, toilet, and shower for a day or two. The staff were helpful and nice. Only on the second day did we realize that the people drinking in the park outside also worked at and slept in the hostel. They were really nice and helpful, but anyone can walk into the common room, which is the kitchen. That kitchen was small and dirty, and everything felt a bit gross to use. The place lacks security and is somewhat dirty, so if you want good locks and to feel secure, this isn't the place for you.
