Breakfast had lots of choice, and the staff were very helpful. Our room was large, with a lovely bathroom and all the equipment we needed. We used Uber to see the sights, which was cheap and easy. We'd definitely come back.

I chose this hotel because I liked my 2019 stay, but I won't return. The room looked nice at first, yet on a closer look it was worn, stained and torn. Our Superior room for three had only one working power outlet, and sirens from the street made it hard to sleep. Breakfast was very good, though the coffee was disgusting, and the location is perfect. The worst part was dinner on Friday, May 1st. Right after check-in I got an email listing the hotel's services, including a room service menu where I ordered food online for 17:30. The system and email both confirmed it. At 17:50, with no food, I called the hotel restaurant. The person on the phone had terrible English, was arrogant, denied there was an order, wouldn't believe me, told me to check with reception, then hung up. Reception treated me the same way, basically called me a liar, suggested I had probably ordered Uber Eats, and hung up too. Nobody tried to sort it out or help. I knew the city would be busy for the holiday and wanted a quiet dinner before a concert, but instead I left angry and hungry. I can't tell if my memory of the 2019 visit is off or the hotel quality has changed that much.

The breakfast and general atmosphere were great. But room 426 had a really bad smell, so in the middle of the night we moved to 326, which smelled a bit too, just not as strongly. When we asked to change rooms, the receptionist seemed to know about the smell already. Very strange. I hope it wasn't mold.

I lead 12-day tours around Germany and usually end up with a sore back and tingling arms because hotel beds are so hard. Here, the mattress pads make the beds incredibly comfortable and I get the best night's sleep. I'm grateful every time I stay. It's the only place where I sleep well on those tours.
