Cosy Box at Boxhagener Platz

Please think carefully before booking this guesthouse. The photos looked beautiful and clean, and I was surprised by what I found in the reviews later. I blame myself for not reading them more thoroughly before booking, even though I was exhausted and short on time. Berlin draws plenty of travelers, so the manager always has bookings, but I believe respect should go both ways between guests and hosts. It isn't okay to spring strict or ironic rules on people who weren't told about them beforehand. Check-in is strictly at 4 PM, and after booking you're required to pay another €150 as a damage deposit. It's unclear who checks for damage, who makes the final decision, or how you can dispute it. I wonder why we don't meet people in person anymore and do everything online. Maybe the managers have had bad experiences with aggressive guests and now assume everyone will behave badly, but that's unfair. We should stand against being treated this way. I'm trying to be fair in writing this, rather than just venting my frustration. Please reconsider booking until the management learns to treat people with respect.

We had a really nice stay for a couple of days, and the customer service and location were both great. It was perfect for two people. The walls are thin, so it would probably suit younger people more.

The hotel's location was the only good thing about it. We found dirty socks under our couch, and some of the dishes were dirty too.

The room, number 4, was a bit dark, and a microwave might be a good addition. Still, it was clean and nice, with enough space for one person or a couple.
