Hotel Delta am Potsdamer Platz

The room was spacious, and both the price and closeness to the city were real pluses. The bathroom hasn't been kept up as well, with visible mould and dust in the corners. Also, parking on the hotel grounds costs 24 euros a day.

I only stayed one night and arrived late, so I didn't ask to change rooms. I don't know whether the hotel has air-conditioned rooms, but mine didn't have air conditioning. There was already a portable cooler in it, which made it seem as though the hotel knew. If you're booking for summer, this is something to check. The street-facing room was completely quiet thanks to the excellent window soundproofing. The receptionist was also quick, attentive, and efficient when I arrived.

Breakfast was great, and the beds were comfortable. It stayed quiet enough that we could leave the windows open to keep cool overnight. Parking, though, is limited and very cramped. My Ford Explorer barely fit, with just inches to spare. There's no laundry at the hotel, despite what I was told when I called ahead. The sixth floor can only be reached by stairs, not the elevator, and those stairs could be difficult for older people or children, with a moderate risk of falling. The shower is tiny and kept switching between hot and cold.

Breakfast was really good, the place was calm, and the bed was very comfortable. The TV had over 100 channels, and there are plenty of small shops and cafes nearby. In my room, though, the shower holder was broken, there was mould on the windows, and the walls were a bit dirty and needed painting. I mentioned it to reception at checkout and they thanked me for letting them know. I'd definitely stay again.
