Before booking, it is important to know that this hotel is also being used as refugee accommodation. This was not clearly disclosed on Booking.com, and staff on site told us it housed around 1,200 residents. We were three regular guests and had no idea before arriving. From about 6 a.m., the hallways were constantly noisy, with loud shouting, children screaming, doors banging, and loud conversations across the floor. We couldn't rest at all. Around 11 a.m. I reported it to a hotel employee. When she tried to speak with a resident, he immediately became aggressive, intimidated her, and tried to physically attack me. More residents gathered soon after, and things escalated. The employee told us to return to our room for our own safety. We were then told that without police involvement, the hotel couldn't guarantee the safety of guests or staff. We had to check out immediately and find another hotel, and were told the accommodation costs would be refunded. I've never experienced anything like this and was deeply shocked by how guest and employee safety is handled here. Whatever the building is used for, I expect transparency during booking and basic safety standards.

The bus stops are close, although the U-Bahn is a bit far away. Otherwise, it was a great hotel: clean rooms, a great complimentary breakfast, and friendly staff.

The hotel is quiet, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The heating is really strong, so the room gets very hot. Alexanderplatz is about 5-6km away, with various transport options available.

For the good price and location, there are still too many basic problems here, and I'd honestly suggest staying somewhere else. Parking is listed as free, but there are hardly any spaces. The room was unusually dirty, with black hairs on the bed, and it didn't feel clean overall. The bathroom smelled strongly of mold and sewage. Sleeping was difficult: the room got unbearably hot, and there were no blackout curtains. Opening the windows meant dealing with loud street noise, and the room still didn't feel any fresher. The staff weren't friendly or helpful. The front desk person was downright rude and seemed uninterested in doing her job. There's a restaurant and bar downstairs, but it only sells reheated frozen pizza. There are plenty of other places nearby, so do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
