GreatStay - Weichselstr. 6

The WiFi was unreliable: it didn’t reach the upstairs bedrooms and sometimes didn’t work at all. There may also be one or two drunk, vagrant, odd guests around, though I suppose that comes with hostels. The place still exceeded my expectations. Staff were friendly, the beds comfortable and things reasonably clean. I liked the decor and the cool lounge, with musical instruments, a TV, gaming console and lots of travel books. Great location too, with loads of cool shops nearby and Frankfurt Allee U-Bahn station close by.

The rooms were clean, and the neighborhood has a cool feel, though the streets right around the hostel seemed a little sketchy. I wasn't keen on how everyone spent time in the kitchen. I'd much rather have a lounge or bar to hang out in, so the place felt short on atmosphere. Having to leave a deposit for the keys seemed odd, too. Not my favorite hostel.

The team were so welcoming and helpful, and they pointed me toward some great places to see in Berlin. I loved how homely the kitchen felt, and the rooms were both spacious and really clean. U Inn Hostel is right in the heart of Friedrichshain, with bars, restaurants and clubs an easy walk away. One of the coziest hostels I've stayed in. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Berlin. :-)

The bathroom facilities were clean, but one of the two men's showers looked like it was almost coming off the wall. The beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly, though the room felt a bit crowded. Still, it's a nice budget hostel, and at that price I'd probably stay again.
