H+ Hotel 4 Youth Berlin Mitte

I booked three nights here. I'm a freelancer, and my appointments in Berlin were canceled, so I contacted the hotel nicely a week ahead to explain and ask if I could cancel. I'd booked with a cancellation option, but hadn't noticed it only allowed cancellation three weeks beforehand. They wouldn't refund me and would only return 10%. At almost 120€ a night, that's a joke. I called again today to discuss it, but they just stuck to the booking rules. My work was canceled, and now I have to pay 250€ for this hotel. They showed no understanding and seemed only interested in money. Disgusting and disappointing. I've now canceled all my future nights with this hotel chain.

I stayed one night and would recommend the place. The team were all very nice. Breakfast was included, and when I asked for gluten-free bread, they said it was no problem. That was a pleasant surprise after bad experiences at other hotels. I also requested an earlier check-in. Since the room was ready, they let me leave my things there and explore berlin without carrying my backpack around. The room was great, with two sets of towels and blackout curtains. I had no issue with music, though I imagine that depends on where your room is in the building. There was no AC, but it was a cold night, so I didn't need it. The tram line is almost at the doorstep, and a train station is very close too.

The hotel stands on the former site of The Berlin Wall, and there’s plenty of history nearby. Public transport is extremely close, so it’s easy to explore the area. I was surprised this was only a 2 Star hotel. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, including letting us store our luggage before the room was ready and again after checkout because we had a late flight. Our room was a good size with comfortable beds. Housekeeping came daily, and the buffet breakfast had a good range. The bathroom had wall-mounted hand soap and body wash/shampoo in the shower.

We could get around easily, with trams and buses right outside and the central train station about a 20-minute walk away. Historical places are all around. The staff were super friendly and let us check in early without any trouble. Our room was clean and roomy enough, and I’d requested two beds for my child and me. The bathroom was clean too, with towels, a hairdryer, soap, and shampoo. Breakfast was good, healthy, and had plenty to choose from. It was a little hot in the room one June night, so I asked for a fan.
