The location is superb, and housekeeping did a very good job. My stay got off to a poor start, though: the staff member at reception couldn’t be bothered to show me around. The breakfast hostess was only average in how she treated guests. I stayed in room 10, and the rooms are very old and could really use a refurbishment.

The furniture is old, the cleaning products leave a strong smell, and the bathroom needs renovating. There’s no air conditioning. It’s okay if you need somewhere to stay, but I didn’t enjoy it much. Breakfast is simple.

We were really disappointed. Room 17 was supposed to be non-smoking, but it smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. We couldn’t change rooms, and nothing was done to fix it. At €119 without breakfast, that was a steep price. We left after one night because the room was horrible and felt like a health risk. The room and hotel furnishings are very dated, and the service was abysmal. I can only advise people against staying there. The room downstairs is a smoking room, and the smoke naturally comes through the ventilation, so this seems to be an ongoing problem.

Friendly service, useful transport links and a good location. Breakfast is very reasonably priced, and the hotel is clean and tidy, even if it isn’t a design hotel. Great value for money. If you’re travelling on a budget, you can’t go wrong here :)
