Holiday Inn - the niu, Hide Berlin Friedrichshain by IHG

I felt comfortable here, almost at home, and would stay again. The staff were friendly and helpful, and although check-in wasn’t until 3 pm, they quickly gave me a room when I arrived at 11 am. The rooms are small, or cosy, depending on how you look at it. The entrance was a bit confusing: ring reception at the door next to the mall, and they’ll buzz you in. There should be a board saying “hotel NIU” with an arrow. It wasn’t too pricey either. 10/10!

We liked the pleasant atmosphere and found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good. We spent two nights here and were very satisfied. We’re planning another trip to Berlin and will definitely choose this hotel again. Highly recommended!

Getting around by public transport was easy from here, but the entrance felt super dodgy, with homeless people hanging around drinking and smoking at all hours. Inside, the rooms were absolutely tiny. We booked a queen room and got two single beds pushed together, which kept sliding apart overnight, with hardly any space around them. When we asked, reception said every room was the same, so why pay extra? Nearly every day at least one of the only two elevators was broken.

The hotel took a bit of finding, and the rooms are on the small side, but once I was in, lots of places were close by. I took the U-Bahn and visited some markets. Denys, Franco and Ana were amazing, recommending places to go and the best food and drinks. The food and drinks at the hotel bar were tasty too. I had a great stay. Thank you.
