The breakfast was amazing, so you should definitely eat there. I was coming from the US and learned that taking food from the breakfast area to the room is something we only do in America. I really liked the hotel and would stay again, especially for work travel to the convention. It's a pretty, fun place to walk around and see the movie memorabilia, in a safe location near public transport, at least three grocery stores, and lots of restaurants. The bathtub is huge, and if you're short it's hard to climb into. The faucet is at one end, while a glass wall means you have to get into the tub just to turn on the water. The room has a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, but it was so high I could only use it to check for gray hairs, lol. The rooms definitely seem made for tall people. There's a great dry and wet sauna, but if people flood it, you have to help deal with that. A flooded room is very slippery, so be careful.

The bed was really comfortable, though the pillows were very soft and the curtains didn't block out the light. Otherwise it was a really good stay and I'd come again. We stayed five days over the weekend. The room was massive and clean, with a coffee machine, small fridge, hairdryer in the bathroom, and plenty of plug sockets. The staff were friendly and the location was good, less than a five-minute walk to a U-bahn station and ten minutes to an S-bahn.

I liked the location, and the room was a nice size, clean, and comfortable. I asked for extra pillows and got them. But the heating couldn't be controlled and the room was far too hot. I only got a greeting once when entering the hotel. Even when the desk was quiet, staff didn't say hello and came across as unwelcoming. Check-out was slow too. I contacted the hotel before my trip to ask about an earlier check-in, but nobody replied. My flight was early, and they stuck to the 3 p.m. time. Other people who arrived after me got checked in while I waited from 10:30 until 3. A smile would've been great.

The location on the Ku’damm was spot on, and breakfast was the best part of this business stay at the Hollywood Media Hotel. Good coffee, lots of choice, and worthy of applause. The rest of the hotel felt tired and run down, like it needed a reboot. Would I return? Only if they remake it. The staff could have been warmer, or at least acted like they'd seen a guest before. My supposedly film-themed room looked like a standard room with one framed photo. If you're booking for the theme, lower your expectations significantly. The mattress was uncomfortable, and a hole in the box spring added its own plot twist. Tap water was advertised as drinkable, but stayed lukewarm no matter how long I ran it, refreshing only if you're making tea. Less Hollywood glamour, more straight-to-DVD sequel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a very good range of choices. The location was excellent, close to restaurants, shops, public transport, and other attractions, so it was easy to get around.
