Hotel Adlon Kempinski

We expected a welcoming, family-friendly stay, but left upset and deeply disappointed. The rest of the staff were helpful and nice, yet the two people at reception completely ruined the experience. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families or anyone who expects basic politeness and professionalism. While my family and I were having dessert in the coffee area, two of my teenage children politely went to reception to ask where the restrooms were. The receptionist was rude and aggressive, raised her voice, spoke disrespectfully, and used offensive, humiliating language. No guest, especially a child, should be treated that way. Later, when my son came back from the restrooms, the same receptionist returned with another staff member. They lectured him about hotel rules, raised their voices, and said outright that they didn't belong in the hotel. This showed a total lack of basic hospitality, courtesy, and training. A hotel where staff scream at guests and disrespect families should seriously reconsider its customer service standards.

Philip at the entrance made a wonderful first impression with his gracious welcome, elegant presence, and professionalism. At reception, Simon was efficient, calm, precise, and impeccably mannered. His service made every interaction feel rewarding, and I'm deeply grateful to them both. Kempinski Hotel Berlin is a masterpiece of comfort, elegance, and sophistication, blending timeless luxury with modern excellence. The attention to detail and warm staff make the hotel a true symbol of prestige and perfection. Every moment felt polished, with service at the highest international level. It was an extraordinary, unforgettable stay, and one of the most distinguished and refined I've experienced. I recommend it with complete confidence.

My room was lovely, quiet, nicely appointed, and a good size. I was excited to spend a few days in this famous old hotel, which I've been told was Berlin's first luxury hotel. I've also stayed at other Kempinski properties. The service, though, was mixed. The Concierge and was excellent, as were the front door staff and housekeeping. Breakfast service was adequate, but there was a long queue and the berries I ordered never arrived. The spa was both expensive and disappointing. My masseur gave me a 50 minute massage even though I had booked 80 minutes, and my facial felt focused on upselling. The first spa receptionist was new but did a great job. The second one, at only 27, had terrifying Botox lips. At the lobby bar, where I met a colleague for tea, our scones arrived 45 minutes after the tea, though at least they were comped. Room service was prompt, but the club sandwich was soggy and inedible. The sweet potato fries were nice, at least. I can't give the hotel five stars. They need more staff, better cooks, and, in my opinion, a complete rethink of the spa.

We felt like royalty thanks to the fantastic staff. They gave us restaurant recommendations and made bookings, and the housekeeping was excellent. The hotel is perfectly placed for reaching most of Berlin's tourist sights. It's a premier hotel, and I'd definitely recommend it if you can.
