Hotel am Hermannplatz

My reservation through booking had a problem, but the person at reception was incredibly kind and found me a room even though the hotel was full and in high demand. I'm so grateful. The room was quiet, clean and great, and the location was convenient. I'll come back!

For an extended trip to Berlin earlier this month, I was very happy with the hotel and room price. The room was basic but clean, and the location is excellent: lots of places to eat and really nice bars are an easy walk away. The U-Bahn is very close, making it easy to get around. The staff were extremely friendly. I didn't need help since this wasn't my first visit to Berlin, but they seemed more than willing to assist if needed. I'd put this hotel at the top of my list for my next trip if all you need is a clean place to sleep in a great location. One small suggestion for the owner: do not disturb signs would be useful in the rooms.

The proprietor was very friendly and accommodating when airline problems meant we had to add a night, check in late, and leave early. He seemed genuinely appreciative of our business. Breakfast was hearty, a typical German spread. It's a budget hotel in an older building on a busy avenue, but our basic room was clean and comfortable and faced a fairly quiet inner courtyard. The hotel sits between the city center and the airport, with direct transit access to both. The two nearest U-Bahn stations are about midway on either side, roughly a 5-10 minute walk. It's a walk-up with no elevator, which is manageable unless you're carrying lots of luggage.

The manager was friendly, funny, and ready to help. Since there was no air conditioning, he even found me a fan. My room was very clean, with windows onto the quiet courtyard, and breakfast was simple but quite good. It's a nice little hotel at a reasonable price, though fairly basic, tucked into an apartment complex on a busy street. I'd stay again.
