Hotel am Wasserturm

The hallway smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the hotel is right beside the train tracks, so it was noisy. There was also a warning sign by the crossing. There were no staff around from Sunday through Tuesday, and emails got no reply. We had booked breakfast once, but there was nothing there, not even a sign explaining it. No Wi-Fi, and no information about that either. The room was dusty and dirty, with hair from previous guests. No hand soap, and the fridge was filthy and smelled bad. When the room was serviced, they only emptied the bin and replaced the towels. Nothing else was cleaned or replenished. It seems to be booked by tradespeople. You can find a lot better for around €120. Once was enough, never again. Definitely ZERO stars!

The hotel looks old-fashioned and dated. The rooms are clean, but for a single room at €100 a night, that's the least I'd expect. The staff were very unpleasant and seemed like they were trying to rip us off. We had booked for two people, yet at breakfast they charged us extra for the second breakfast.

The rooms are modern, and breakfast is generous. I stayed three nights for work, and there is a gated parking lot in front. The place felt impersonal, though. Reception was rarely staffed, and the breakfast staff stayed in the kitchen. There are security cameras throughout. I would recommend the hotel.
