Hotel Berlin, Berlin, a member of Radisson Individuals

The location, staff and atmosphere were all lovely. The room was another story: its layout felt like a creepy backroom maze, and it wasn't very clean either. We found a silverfish in the bathroom towels, so check the textiles.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is a good value. The breakfast had a huge selection, and the bar was decent, with tasty, simple food at reasonable prices. It's a large four-star hotel near the metro, with good facilities including a gym and sauna. The main drawbacks were in the bathroom: no heating, no underfloor warmth, a towel rail that couldn't be switched on, no heated mirror, and rather poor lighting. Otherwise, hard to fault.

It's a stylish, upscale Berlin stay, and the hotel and its gym and sauna were nice. Many attractions are central and others are easy to reach. The self check-in and checkout felt a little strange when booking through a third-party travel agent.

The hotel looks pleasant, but the service and management made the stay completely not worth it. We arranged a group booking in advance and sent the participant list, room assignments, and arrival times in writing. Still, several colleagues, including a child with their mother, arrived around 6 PM and were refused access until every room in the group was paid for. They waited in the lobby until 2:30 AM. Payment was completed between midnight and 2:30, but the hotel showed no flexibility or consideration. Keeping guests, including a minor, waiting for hours late at night is unacceptable. The reception staff on duty were rude and dismissive. They had no visible name badges, so accountability was impossible, and there was no manager available or reachable during the stay. The system seemed rigid and badly managed, with no basic hospitality or human consideration. We have travelled widely and stayed in many hotels, and this was by far our worst experience. I would not recommend staying here.
