Hotel Tiergarten Berlin

The nicely decorated lobby gave a misleading first impression. Behind it, the hotel looks tired and unpleasant. Check-in was very late because the rooms weren't ready, and once we finally got in, there was no hot water anywhere in the hotel. Nobody could say when it would be fixed. Avoid this place.

The room needs a serious update. I could hear everything from the room above, next door, the hallway, and especially outside. Only one bathroom light worked, the sink tap either dripped or sprayed, and the bed was uncomfortable. There was also a gap beneath the door that let hallway light shine in. Lesson learned, I won't look for budget rooms anymore.

The breakfast was terrible, and I don't understand the guests who say it's good. There were insects all around, the yogurt was getting warm, and the salad looked like it had been sitting there for three days. It was hard to communicate in English with the breakfast staff. Please don't eat there, the hygiene is poor. There are lots of nearby breakfast cafés, or you can order through Uber Eats.

The rooms are functional and the location is great, plus it's budget friendly. Just keep in mind that anyone expecting five-star accommodation and all the amenities will need to stay somewhere else.
