Leonardo Hotel Berlin Mitte

We enjoyed the breakfast, with healthy choices and even a machine for fresh carrot and ginger juice. Rooms are lovely, service is great, and the location puts you close to restaurants, shops, and a train station. Free WiFi, a gymnasium, spa, and sauna are available, though that comes at a price. It's a lovely choice for a few nights.

The downstairs bar really stood out for its excellent service. I can't remember the barman's name, but he was superb, remembered our usual drinks from one day to the next, and was great to chat with. The hotel has beautiful rooms and makes a good base for visiting Berlin and walking to the various sights and attractions. I'd recommend it.

Getting around Berlin was easy from here, with the train and tube station just across the bridge. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was very nice, but there weren't enough coffee machines, and their position near the food stations caused long queues. The bed was a little too soft for me, though the rooms were comfortable. The lift setup also needs attention: just two lifts for 309 rooms meant huge waits when trying to get to or from your room.

There's a nice selection of nearby places to eat and drink, and the Brecht theatre is right next door for anyone who loves art. The hotel itself is clean, friendly, and well organized, in an amazing spot close to the tube. The sights are also within roughly a 30-minute walk.
