My stay at numa Berlin Novela was great. The room was clean, quiet and well maintained, with all the amenities provided. Nothing disturbed us, and everything felt smooth and comfortable. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it.

The room was spacious, but the pillows and bed covers weren’t comfortable, and cleanliness could be better. There’s no room cleaning service, which was disappointing. The ironing facilities and coffee station are on the 3rd floor, and no water is provided. Breakfast is listed as part of the stay, but it comes from the coffee shop and bakery downstairs. When we said we were hotel guests, they offered only very basic bread with cheese and jam. The selection was quite limited. For the price, I expected better service. There’s no hotel parking either. The location is very good, but for a business trip you might want a more traditional, full-service hotel. It’s a self-service hotel, and that part is fairly easy to manage. On my first day of a seven-night stay, the curtain fell from the ceiling, which felt unsafe. Staff quickly helped move me to another room through WhatsApp, and I appreciated that.

We got a special offer at the beginning of the year, and our stay was amazing! It’s a very good area to stay in if you get a good price.

The extras and location worked especially well for us. It’s next to Ku’damm, West Berlin’s high street, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, and bus and U-bahn stops close by. There’s even umbrella rental when it rains, plus free use of premium Holmes Gym. For less than 100 euros a night for three adults and one child, it was amazing value. Our room was spacious, with the chic, minimalist style I liked and super high ceilings because it’s an altbau over 100 years old. It had AC for summer, unusual for a budget hotel in Berlin. The open closet had enough shelves and hangers, and the mini kitchen had a microwave, stovetop, mini fridge, plates and cutlery. We had a dining table for three, a good selection of teas, espresso with creamer and sugar, and toiletries. The water pressure was good, the shower kept water in the stall, and the strong blow dryer dried faster than my Dyson. There’s an ESSENTIALS room for supplies anytime. The pillows had some volume and didn’t go totally flat, and they gave us five, two for the adults and one for our chile. A few things could be better. There’s no cleaning during the stay, but for four nights and this price, that was okay. We could hear the room above scraping a chair at night, so felt pads under the chair legs would help. The bathroom ceiling was open, and we asked them to make sure the cover wouldn’t fall on us. They fixed it the same day, but left paint and dirt bits in the sink. We asked for more pillows, but there were none in the ESSENTIALS ROOM where they told us to look. The container labeled KISSEN was empty, so we had to use the kids pillow. The bathroom was too small, and its door kept hitting the toilet seat. Only one person could use it at a time.

The room was clean and looked nice, and the hotel is well located. We stayed for a weekend, but checkout on Sunday was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Checkout was at the usual 11 a.m. I was sleeping a little later when a man, who I assume was a cleaner, opened the door, walked in and stood beside my bed, talking to me while I was asleep. I don’t understand how that could happen. There were cigarette butts all over the roof beside the balcony, too. We don’t know whether our belongings were safe, since someone could just open the door and walk in. I wouldn’t recommend booking there if you can’t be sure your valuables are safe.
